Counseling Groups and Educational Courses Offered

At Pacific Coast Counseling, a number of therapeutic groups and educational workshops and course are offered on a rotating basis. Here is a list of the most recent offerings. New Beginning: A Gathering Place for Mature Divorcing Women
An 8-week educational and process group for women experiencing divorce after long-term marriage.  This group explores the grieving process, dealing with blame and resentment, feelings of failure and issues of self-esteem and loneliness. (Currently Running)

Relief From Anxiety
A 12-week closed group addressing generalized anxiety, panic disorder, and social phobia. This is both a process and psycho-educational group, including an introduction to meditation and stress reduction skills, education about nutritional support, facilitated group sharing within a safe and supportive healing environment.

Making Peace With Our Body
An 8-week course on healing negative body image issues for women.  We address early childhood messages, issues of rape, sexuality, cultural stereotypes and pressure, and negative self-talk. Participants learn enhanced body awareness, positive self-talk approaches, and utilization of intuition through physical sensitivity.

Visioning Group
A one-day workshop designed to assist clients in releasing the past and creating a new vision for future endeavors.  Includes specific journaling techniques for personal exploration, positive affirmation process, incorporating art and collage, and creating daily affirmations. This can be tailored as a therapeutic or workplace offering.

From Judgment to Discernment
Purposefully created materials and presentation specifically designed to assist clients and/or fellow professionals in working through judgments and criticism of self and others and to embrace and actualize the ability to forgive and transform relationships.  Materials provided to support learning how to move from a state of anger and judgment to neutral discernment, in the context of making both minor and major life decisions.

The Chakra System and Psychotherapy
Specialized training for mental health professionals in the awareness and use of the chakra system in counseling.  Exploring, detailing, and incorporating the correlation between the body’s energy centers and various psychological theories of human development throughout the history of psychotherapy.

Parenting Skills: How to Parent Through Love Instead of Fear
A variety of parenting education and support classes are available that have been used in various agencies.  Teresa's education includes training as a Certified Breakthrough Parenting Instructor, as well as completion in a variety of trainings in the area of effective parenting. Please ask for further details based on children's age(s) and specific challenges you may be experiencing.

Corporate Stress: When You Feel Like a Mess
Stress-management program for corporate administration that includes personal development of stress-management skills and multi-layered managerial skills and communication development for reducing stress in the workplace.
